Becoming part of the squad
is through a registration process, followed by pre-assessments. Selected junior players are by invitation only. Invited athletes will attend the academy for evaluations in physical fitness, technical proficiency, and tactical understanding. They are then selected for the elite Greater London Squad.

It starts with...
students learning the basics at Gala Academy's Hubs, schools and junior badminton clubs from within the Greater London area. There are two age groups U14 and U18. You must have played in at least 4 tournaments to enroll for the assessment.

...Assessment...
held at the Gala Academy's Centre of Excellence twice a year and carried out by a triage of coaches, phycologists, and physical trainers. Players are assessed in, playing capability and capacity, strength, composure, strategy and knowledge against the PD Grid.

the top 12 players in each age group are selected by the triage to form the Greater London Squad.
